The Barnawapara wildlife sanctuary is one of the most easily reachable wildlife sanctuaries in Chhattisgarh. Located in the northern part of Raipur district of Chhattisgarh, this wildlife sanctuary is visited by a large number of tourists and wildlife enthusiasts throughout the year.

BY ROAD: Directions: Please read carefully before you begin the Journey. (A printout will be handy) From Raipur City, our resort is just 92 Kms, and from Nagpur, it is approximately 385 kms away. Villages and Towns enroute: ENTER STEP BY STEP NAME OF THE VILLAGES THAT COMES ENROUTE THE RESORT

Road Conditions: The road is excellent from Raipur all the way to the resort, but for the last few kilometers, with a bit rough patch of potholes, but motor able.

Ideal time to leave: Try to leave Raipur before 6.00 AM in the morning so that you can beat the city traffic, as well as relax and enjoy the evening safari on the same day, at the resort.

Travel Time: Approximately, between 1 1/2 & 2 hours excluding a 30 minute stop for breakfast enroute. Mobile.

lConnectivity: smart network connections will be within range after reaching the resort also, though we have a weak signal at some places due to the dense forest area.

Travel Tips

To help you experience the jungle in its truest sense we recommend the following:

For safaris: Accessories – Caps, clothing in dull shades

of brown, green and khaki. Please avoid bright vibrant colors like red, yellow, white and orange. (They distract the animals.), Camera, Binoculars, Water flasks, goggles.

For nature walks: Caps, sport shoes
and boots, rucksacks / sling packs, binoculars, water flasks.

In monsoon (June – Aug): Warm clothing, windcheaters, raincoats, jackets.
In winter (Nov – Jan): Warm clothing, windcheaters, jackets.

In summer (Feb – May): Caps, cool comfortable fabrics, Goggles.

Note: Every room will offer basic toiletries, a candle,
a torch and mosquito repellent.


While Muba’s Machaan offers basic first aid, you are requested to carry any special medication you may require, as the nearest pharmacy is 35 km away.
